Mariah Smith joined Allyn & Fortuna LLP as an associate in 2021. She concentrates in the areas of commercial litigation, administrative and regulatory law, and employment law.
Ms. Smith represents a wide range of clients, including Fortune 500 corporations, national store chains, and regional and local businesses, in both litigation and regulatory matters. She focuses her litigation practice in the areas of contract disputes, corporate and insurance litigation, real estate litigation, the arbitrability of disputes, and employment law.
In Ms. Smith’s regulatory practice, she also represents a wide array of clients in administrative and criminal court proceedings. She handles a variety of compliance matters, including state and local fire safety, buildings, health, environmental, alcohol, local code, and consumer protection. In addition, she advises clients on a variety of compliance issues.
Mariah Smith was born in New Bern, North Carolina and raised in San Diego, California. She earned her B.A. from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2013, where she majored in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations. Ms. Smith received her Juris Doctor in 2020 from Brooklyn Law School, where she interned with the Brooklyn Law School Community Development Clinic, providing representation for community development corporations, not-for-profit organizations and other small businesses that provide services for underserved communities.
