Nicholas Fortuna, a founding partner of the firm, was born in Queens, New York in 1960. Mr. Fortuna earned his B.A. from Queens College (1983) and graduated cum laude from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center (J.D., 1986). At Touro, he received the Faculty’s Distinguished Scholar Award and a Touro Law School Fellowship. Mr. Fortuna is a litigator, whose experience includes extensive commercial litigation for national retail chains. Mr. Fortuna founded the firm in 1990. [Top]

James Allyn, a founding partner of the firm, was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1961. Mr. Allyn earned his B.A. from Amherst College (1984) and graduated cum laude from New York University School of Law (J.D., 1989, Order of the Coif). Mr. Allyn has extensive experience in commercial litigation and appellate advocacy. [Top]

Andrea Platner Hellman was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1970. Ms. Hellman was awarded a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1992. She earned her J.D. cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 1995, where she was named a Paul J. Liacos Scholar and an Edward F. Hennessey Distinguished Scholar. She was also a member of the American Journal of Law and Medicine. Ms. Hellman joined the firm in 1996 and became a partner in 2005. She concentrates in administrative and regulatory law, commercial litigation, and intellectual property. [Top]

Jesse Kaplan was born in Los Angeles, California in 1977. He earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1999, and a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2002. Mr. Kaplan was the recipient of the First Honors Award in Torts from Loyola Law School. He concentrates primarily in commercial litigation. [Top]

Paula Lopez was born in Quito, Ecuador in 1978. She graduated with a B.A. from Rutgers University in 2000. In 2003, Ms. Lopez earned her J.D. from Tulane Law School. She was the Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Journal of American Arbitration in 2002-2003. Her main practice areas include administrative and regulatory law and commercial litigation. [Top]

Megan Muoio was born in Marlton, New Jersey in 1979. Ms. Muoio was awarded her B.A., magna cum laude, from Gettysburg College in 2001 and was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2004. Her practice areas include commercial litigation, construction, and real estate law. [Top]
